Grow your own way

Cultivae Psychotherapy comes from the idea of cultivation — the careful, attentive process through which optimal growth occurs when conditions are right. In psychotherapy, meaningful change rarely happens through force or urgency. It emerges through safety, relational attunement, and careful tending.
Cultivae reflects a therapeutic philosophy grounded in acceptance, depth, and integration. Rather than focusing on fixing or erasing parts of the self, lets work on creating the conditions in which clarity, resilience, and agency can develop.
Growth is not rushed here. It is cultivated.
Hi, I’m Amy
I’m Amy Reichelt, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying, CRPO) and Chartered Psychologist (CPsychol.), working with adults and adolescents who are thoughtful, capable, and often carrying more than they let on.
Many of the people I work with appear to be doing well on the outside, while internally navigating anxiety, perfectionism, burnout, identity transitions, or deeper feelings of shame, inferiority, or imposter syndrome. Over time, these experiences can show up in patterns with food, relationships, and mental clarity.
My approach is relational and integrative, grounded in both science and lived experience. I hold a PhD in Behavioural Neuroscience and am completing a Master’s in Counselling Psychology, alongside over a decade of experience across academia and the pharmaceutical industry. This background allows me to bring both depth and precision to the therapeutic process—while staying attuned to the human story behind it.
My own path has included significant transitions—moving internationally, navigating career shifts, and adjusting to a diagnosis of an autoimmune condition. Through this, I came to understand the value of having an honest, grounded space to make sense of complex thoughts, emotions, and bodily experiences.
As a psychotherapist, I draw from evidence-based, contemporary approaches while remaining attentive to the emotional, developmental, and relational contexts that shape each person’s experience. Therapy with me is not about quick fixes or self-optimization—it’s about creating safety, understanding patterns, and supporting meaningful, sustainable change over time.
At Cultivae Psychotherapy, growth is not rushed. It is cultivated.
My approach
My work is grounded in the understanding that our emotions, nervous systems, and relationships are deeply interconnected. Many internal struggles that show up as anxiety, compulsive patterns, or self-criticism are not failures of willpower, but adaptive responses shaped by experience, biology, and context.
Relational, trauma-informed, and neuroscience-backed approach
We work with thoughts and behaviours and with the underlying nervous system patterns that influence regulation, craving, attachment, and self-perception. Therapy is collaborative and paced, with close attention to safety, curiosity, and consent.
Food addiction, trauma, emotional eating and body image
Rather than framing these difficulties as problems to control or eliminate, we explore how they developed, what they protect against, and how new forms of regulation and self-trust can be cultivated. This work often involves gently separating physiological drives from emotional needs, reducing shame, and building more compassionate and flexible responses over time.
Nervous system regulation and embodied awareness
Polyvagal-informed and somatic techniques can be especially helpful for individuals who feel chronically on edge, disconnected from their bodies, or caught in cycles of reactivity or shutdown. By working with sensations, movement, breath, and cues of safety, we support helping the body learn that it is safe enough to settle, feel, and respond differently.
At Cultivae Psychotherapy, the emphasis is on understanding rather than self-correction. The aim is not to override parts of yourself, but to create the conditions where regulation, clarity, and agency can emerge.
